“Every one of these women are committed to service. There’s a deep, heartfelt resonance that I feel from each and every one of them. Their service to their community, to the development of organizations, to preserving our cultural values and our roots, brings so much strength, unity, and love. What they are doing as individuals is significant, and it has ripple effects that will live on way past our lifetimes, seven generations and beyond. And that is power.”

About the Alliance for Felix Cove
The Alliance for Felix Cove (A4FC) is an Indigenous-women-led grassroots organization that works for the purpose to protect, restore and re-matriate the Felix Family Coast Miwok/Támal-ko ancestral home at Point Reyes National Seashore. The Alliance is an emergent organization and building organizational capacity to carry out advocacy to re-matriate Indigenous ancestral lands, shift the narrative from colonial settler history to center Indigenous history and science, and to build and engage community. We envision Felix Cove as an Indigenous site of resiliency embodying history, culture, ecological science, justice and community.
The Alliance for Felix Cove is built on an ecosystem of Indigenous principles of respect, generosity, reciprocity, responsibility, relationship and gratitude. We follow our principles to ensure we prevent internal and lateral oppression. We are creating a place of justice that recognizes and removes the historical barriers experienced by Támal-ko people to living on and accessing ancestral homelands—now a national park. We expand upon this notion of justice to be inclusive of all people, with an emphasis on people of color for whom national parks can represent a place of exclusion. We share our programs and resources to ensure equity is modeled and achieved. We welcome diversity and celebrate the unique experiences and stories that each individual brings to our circle. Our work is to call out and dismantle systems of oppression that deny individuals and communities justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
